The Entrepreneurial Olympics - Sample Activity

Context:

The participants have been put into teams and the objectives and rules have been explained. One participant from each team must go to a station and perform the activity. The activities do not need to be done in numerical order.

This is activity #1. The participant will go to the station with their team baton and then do the activity.

Skill Station 1 – Entrepreneurial Attitudes and Characteristics

When a participant arrives, ask the participant his team number and verify with the baton number. Hand the participant an Entrepreneurial Attitudes sheet.

Ask the participant to write down10 entrepreneurial attitudes or characteristics on the sheet and give the sheet back to you.

Once the participant has given you the sheet ask them to name 5 more entrepreneurial attitudes or characteristics. Check against the sheet the participant gave you. The participant cannot repeat an attitude or characteristic that was written down.

Pick one attitude. Ask the participant for an example of how this attitude or characteristic would be displayed by an entrepreneur as differentiated from a manager.

Score the participant from 0 to 4, with 0 the lowest and 4 the highest.

 SCORING

Fill in the score on your scoring summary sheet, with each criteria scored separately.

Fill in the score on two scoring chits. Give one chit to the participant. The other will go to the central scoring station.  Either collect a few and run them to the central scoring station or wait for it to be collected, depending on your instructions from the coordinator.
